The SamplePod holds every possible sample size securely within one pod which can be used time and time again. This reduces costs, eliminates all waste, prevents damage, helps maintain temperature, reduces space and standardises racking. Manual systems waste valuable lab capacity and make an already complicated task even harder. The SamplePod system automates and accelerates the clerical tasks, whilst reducing the opportunity for human error. With ultrafast read times, less than 5 milliseconds, and customisable data formats, the intelligent labels enable pathology labs to process incoming samples in the shortest time possible with data available in real time.
The sample tray’s smart geometric grid made from flexible TPE, is softened internally whilst hardened externally so samples are gripped securely in place. Friction to the label is minimised which dramatically reduces the impact of damaged or part peeled labels.
Each sample is given a unique ID (UID) stored in the intelligent label, which is linked to the barcode information in a secure database. No patient data is stored on the sample, or in the SamplePod. All the sample UIDs are associated with the master UID of their SamplePod. With date stamps added at each step, greater transparency is achieved enabling traceability if there are any subsequent issues in the transport of the sample to the lab.
Location features at the corner of the base allows each SamplePod to be stacked one atop the other. The carry handle sits flush within the lid when not in use, allowing the SamplePod’s to be seamlessly and securely stacked within existing transport bags. The robustness of the pod offers full protection, greatly reducing the cost impact of re-testing.
All individual sample IDs and the master chip ensures each sample is fully traceable in real-time, all the way through to the pathology lab. The lab is notified of the number and type of samples the second the sample is checked in, providing full visibility to the lab.
